It’s almost 10 pm PT, but since I'm a master at time travel, technology is sending this to you as I crawled into bed two hours ago. This is a solo parenting week, so I’m prioritizing sleep and the luxury that I rarely get: reading a book in bed. I love physical books, but it’s really hard to see when your partner shuts off the lights because you both are operating at DEFCON 5 - the lowest state of disaster readiness.
The goal of holding a book in my hand and flipping through the pages was one of the lights at the end of the tunnel holding me together today.
This week is a reset week for me. I’m thinking through routines that I want to create and habits I want to stack so I can prioritize my own well-being. My goals: take my Zoloft (praise be) consistently, use the new retinol moisturizer morning and night, and transition to bedtime with gua sha (tons of benefits!). Since I usually rush from dinner to putting the kids to bed, to lunch packing, to collapsing from exhaustion by 10 pm, it’s time to find a new rhythm - one that allows me to wind down with a book instead of my phone. (We’ll see how long it lasts.)
What parts of your routine do you want to shake up? What is working? As we head into summer, it’s a great time to do a quick assessment.
